UPSC invites applications for Civil Services Examination 2025

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has invited applications for Civil Services Examination 2025. There are 979 vacancies for which application forms are invited. As per the UPSC notification these seats can be changed after final information from Cadre Control Authority.

Last Date for Receipt of Applications

The Online Applications can be filled upto 11th February, 2025 till 6:00 PM. The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admit Card on the last working day of the preceding week of the date of examination. The e-Admit Card will be made available in the UPSC website [https://upsconline.gov.in] for downloading by the candidates. No Admit Card will be sent by post.

Modification in OTR Profile (Registration):

In case, the candidate wants to effect any change in his/her OTR Profile (Registration) profile, it shall be allowed only once in the lifetime after the registration at OTR platform. The change in OTR profile (Registration) data shall be available till expiry of 7 days from the next day after the closure of application window of his/her first final application for any Examination of the Commission. In the case, the candidate after registration applies for the first time in this examination, the last date of modification of OTR Profile (Registration) would be 18.02.2025.

Number of Seats

The number of vacancies to be filled through the examination is expected to be approximately 979 which include 38 vacancies reserved for Persons with Benchmark Disability Category, i.e. 12 Vacancies for candidates of (a) blindness and low vision; 7 Vacancies for (b) deaf and hard of hearing; 10 Vacancies for (c) locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid attack victims and muscular dystrophy; and 9 Vacancies for (e) multiple disabilities from amongst persons under clauses (a) to (c) including deaf-blindness. The final number of vacancies may undergo change after getting firm number of vacancies from Cadre Controlling Authorities. Reservation will be made for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes, the Economically Weaker Sections and Persons with Benchmark Disability in respect of vacancies as may be fixed by the Government.

Date for Preliminary Exam

Preliminary Examination of the Civil Services Examination for recruitment to the Services and Posts mentioned below will be held by the Union Public Service Commission on 25th May, 2025 in accordance with the Rules published by the Department of Personnel & Training in the Gazette of India Extraordinary dated 22nd January, 2025.

Allotment of Centres

Allotment of Centres will be on the “first-apply-first allot” basis, and once the capacity of a particular Centre is attained, the same will be frozen. Applicants, who cannot get a Centre of their choice due to ceiling, will be required to choose a Centre from the remaining ones. Applicants are, thus, advised that they may apply early so that they could get a Centre of their choice.

Minimum Educational Qualification

A candidate must hold a Graduate degree of any of the Universities incorporated by an Act of the central or State Legislature in India or other educational institutions established by an Act of Parliament or declared to be deemed as a University under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 or possess an equivalent qualification.
